Comment: I am with a cable company that charges a monthly rental for using their modem. For me it was ~$5/month. If you do the math you'd need a year for this thing to start paying for itself. All you have to do is call the cable company and give them the MAC of the modem and within a few hours you should be surfing the web like usual. It's a seamless installation if using the ethernet cable (cant comment on USB connection). Be sure to check with the cable company and see what modems they support (DOCIS #) and save yourself some stress.

Comment: I bought this product because the cable co. said my old on was out of date as the reason I was having problems getting connected .
I later found out I would not had to buy this as the problem was water in one of there boxes a couple of blocks away.
It performs ok though.

Comment: This is a good Modem. I simply replaced my Comcast modem with this one. No problems. Just works fine out of the box. It is the same modem comcast rents to you. You must call to register the new modem with Comcast.

Comment: I've now had this modem that I use with Charter COmmunications for 2 months. It is the exact same modem that they give you if you were to pay the same $5 dollars a month but for the price you get it for here it's cheaper than paying the whole year. I like it and easy set-up.
