Comment: I just bought this camera two weeks ago. It's been working fine; I was very happy.
Yesterday, after shooting several clips, the camera stopped responding. I could turn the camera on and off, but no other controls would respond: I couldn't record, play, delete or zoom. I could also access the footage I had already shot using the Flipshare program, and download the footage off the system - but that's all.
I spoke to customer service, who told me that I would have to remove the battery and wait two days for a full reset. I was also told that I shouldn't use my Mac to recharge the camera, and that I should plug it into a PC-based machine - I had to tell her three times before she would understand that I owned the accessory AC adaptor. Still, I now have to wait two days for the camera to reset, and then overnight for the battery to charge - just to see if the camera will work. The customer service rep seemed completely unqualified.
I bought this camera for a particular event; now I have to scramble to find something else to use. Very, very disappointed.

Summary: Save your money for something better.
Comment: This product is not worth over $150 dollars, if you like good quality footage, then this product is not for you. I bought mine and returned it after a few days... If you don't care about image stabilization, then the shaky footage won't bother you... it's not worth $150 dollars though. I was not looking for a high quality product for a low price...just something average, but the shaky image is too much. You need to use a tripod all of the time!

Summary: Awesome little camcorder
Comment: If you are looking to buy a drop-dead simple digital camcorder that even your grandmother can use, look no further. I researched a number of camcorders before settling on this one even though it doesn't have a great zoom and other fancy bells and whistles. This device does just one thing - records HD video - and does it very well indeed. Another greatly useful feature is that it accepts standard AA batteries. This means you don't have to lug an extra battery pack and/or a charger like for the other flip models.
Pros:
- Excellent video quality.
- Easy to store and carry (fits nicely in your pocket - it's just slightly thicker and longer than your average cell phone).
- Light weight
- Minimalist controls. You can't go wrong with them.
- Easy to connect to your PC via the inbuilt USB plug.
- Fits on a standard tripod to get steady shake free video.
- Easy to transfer videos to your windows PC or mac.
- Can take standard AA batteries.
Cons:
- The battery life isn't that great.
- The sound quality is a little lukewarm and the microphone isn't sensitive enough.
- No optical zoom. The 2x digital zoom is not very good.

Summary: Waste of money
Comment: Retails for $150.00. First time used, lens has horizontal cracks in it. Flip customer service: "No replacement part for it". There is NO LENS COVER to protect it. Must have hit something while in tote bag. WASTE OF MONEY. How can they sell this for that price and not allow for a replacement lens. I would pay for it, I understand lens is not under warranty. That was not the problem. Like throwing out $150.00. I can't even give it a star, but might have to, to get this posted.

Summary: good piece of wonder
Comment: I bought this to capture my 3yr old daughter activities. Previously I had a very old sony miniDV. I was planning to buy a good flash or HD camcoder from Sony again. But I know the issues of portability with Sony and their software sucks. Hence was looking a more portable, reliable, good quality one. I came across this and read a lot of reviews about it. It lived up to my expectations in almost all aspects.
Pros: Easy potable, good HD quality, Easy to use, Simple Software solution, Easy upload to any site.
Cons: Battery and zoom.
