Contrary to some reviews, the included software can be easily enabled or disabled. (I chose to keep it disabled since I don't need to carry software with me.) I have 2, one reads 27M/s seq, the other 23M/s. Writes are under 5M/s: Unless you turn on delayed writes, maybe write 1-5 files/sec. The only way to add many small files quickly is zip them up first. 8k cluster may help? Very fast seek under .5ms! 8M/s random 4k reads! Only 1-3M/s 512K writes. FYI: 15M/s random 8k reads!
