Customer Rating: Summary: Good deal for the money Comment: The kids were very excited to receive an XBox360 for Christmas. Works perfectly. One MAJOR complaint however. Since it had been refurbished, all of the profiles from previous users were still on the computer. And the names of these profiles were very sexually explicit, and not something that my kids at their young ages should have seen. This was very disappointing that it wasn't cleaned off of the computer. We were able to go in and remove them ourselves, so the buyer should have done this before shipping it to us.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great system, poor performance Comment: I love Xbox live and all the games that are exclusive to the Xbox like Gears of War and Halo, but we are on our THIRD console. We got the first release console when it came out a few years ago, got the red rings of death x2 (x3 needed for free repair) and replaced it with another system that died shortly after. We got smart when we bought our second console and bought a replacement warranty from Gamestop. Good thing, because now we have a third.
The Good
* I prefer Xbox controllers to PS3 and Wii because I have larger hands and the button layout is more pleasing.
* I think there is an excellent selection of games that are geared mainly towards adults and not too many cartoonish games.
* Sleek design is a huge improvement over the original Xbox (which I also had THREE of)
* Xbox live has some great downloadable content and online play is second only to PC online gaming, maybe not even
* Can be used as a DVD player, a picture viewer, to rent movies, and I can stream the tunes from my iPod through my TV's speakers with it
* Nice assortment of accessories
The Bad
I HAVE HAD THREE
Buy it, but buy the warranty. The new ones (including my current system) have the Falcon chip or some thing that is supposed to eliminate the red rings of death issue. In all fairness, ours gets used on a daily basis (yes, we are lame) so the failure rate is probably higher if you use yours for 4+ hours a day, every day. If you are buying a system for kids 12 and under, buy a Wii. I would rate the Xbox as a teens-adults platform. You will find more family style games on the Wii. I still give it 4 stars because when it works, it is a truly phenomenal system.
Customer Rating: Summary: xbox 360 Comment: My son was familiar with the xbox already, so he knew how to operate it and likes the fact that he can 'save' his games. So far.. no problems with it.. I'm not one to comment on graphics and such as I have NO CLUE, his comments however were all positive. I even bought a a couple of games for me, the mom.. and yes, it's fun, the picture is clear and not too difficult, even for a 'DUMMIE' like me.
Customer Rating: Summary: xbox 360 console Comment: Xbox360 console would not work. It would not play games and it made a loud noise when the disk was rotating. Microsoft would not help us because it had been registered to someone else previously. The vendor said it was like new, reconditioned. I am sending it back
Customer Rating: Summary: Waaaaayyyy better than the original Xbox... Comment: Okay, when I first got it, I played it for hours. It is very fun but unfortunately I don't have Xbox Live. :( But overall it is very good.
One question: If the Xbox 360 has a HDMI port on the back, does it mean that the XBox has the new thing inside rather than the faulty RROD thing?
