Summary: Great Hard Disk
Comment: If you like a speedy Hard Disk Drive with 800 Fire Wire then this is your deal, this hard disk offers multiple port types to hook it up with your mac/pc.
I am a mac user and i like this hard disk, i used to have Western Digital (WD) with 500 GB but it crashed twice, and last time, i couldn't recover my files.
with this one, i am so happy its fast to transfer my files with 800 Fire Wire.
the only disadvantage is that it is big, so you need to hide it somewhere that you don't see it.
you can leave it ON all the time, it puts it's self on sleep when idle.

Summary: Spectacular Drive
Comment: I bought two of the 2 Terabyte drives... very nicely made out of aluminum and the Firewire 800 interface is noticeably faster... I'm using one on a new Mac Pro and one on a high-end PC with a Firewire 400/800 card installed. I'd say the nicest, best performing external drive I've ever purchased.

Summary: Strike Two... I Quit
Comment: I couldn't believe it. The first drive I ordered showed up with the sound of something rattling around inside. LaCie has no phone number to get support, so I tried the email method. While I was waiting, Amazon said that they would just send me a new one. Great! It arrived with the same rattling sound. In the meantime, LaCie gave me permission to open the case... I opened the latest drive and found two of the four screws that secure the internal board floating around. I put the screws in and the drive seemed to work O.K., except that I could not use it as a media drive in Final Cut Pro using the Firewire 800 for capture. After some time with Apple support, trying different things, and trying another drive altogether... Conclusion: A bad drive! It is going back... and I ordered a different brand to replace it.
