Customer Rating: Summary: Yes, it *IS* voice compatible Comment: Iv seen a lot of people who seem to have issues with this modem getting the voice functionality to work... It *IS* voice compatible.. But its the way Agere licenses this as a "value added" feature to particular vendors modems that is causing the difficulty
.
Heres the download you need...

Im betting that most of you are just plugging in the modem and *NOT* updating the driver .... Windows built in driver does NOT support voice on the Agere chipset!
Customer Rating: Summary: Low Quality Item, Poor Customer Service Comment: Let's face it, dial-up modems on the whole are overpriced pieces of junk. But this is easily the worst model I've had. It stopped working in a little over a month from when I purchased it. Not wanting to start the horrid, time-consuming search for another modem for my laptop (or shell out another $20-$50), I noticed the warranty on the box.
Upon contacting the company as instructed via email, they said I should mail it in to be repaired or replaced. Less than a month later, I received a replacement modem. And this seemed like a decent company. However the second modem worked for about six months, then like the first just stopped working.
When I contacted them again, because it was still under the warranty from my original purchase date, I was informed that basically it had only been an act of charity that they replaced the first one. And they also diagnosed the problem with my second modem without a detailed description or even having me mail the modem back to examine it: it was the result of a power surge that was somehow my fault. Funny, how there were no power surges prior to or when it just stopped working, and that, except when in use, my modem, laptop, and all accessories are turned off, unplugged and packed away. And when in use they are also plugged into an anti-surge power strip. I've had electrical storms fry modems over the phone lines, and trust me, I know what it looks and sounds like when this occurs. And I've learned my lesson not to use them during storms. This acted more like faulty product, something I'm also getting to know well.
This is on my DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CONSIDER PURCHASING list.
There must be a decent modem out there...(but it's not this one)
Customer Rating: Summary: NOT a voice modem. Comment: After I recieved this item and it wouldn't work I called Tiger and they said it is not a voice modem. Cost more than $10.00 to find out Amazon is advertising it incorrectly.
Customer Rating: Summary: Modem does not work on a mac Comment: iMac running 10.5.3 (latest) OS. System profiler finds its presence but no recognition by standard fax applications. The very fine print says only PC applications work, but no vendor that I found adversities this limitation.
Customer Rating: Summary: Don't buy for voice. Comment: Although it's said to work on voice, it doesn't. Otherwise, it works well as a data/fax modem.
