Customer Rating:      Summary: Great idea! Comment: My family went together and bought the Presto for our 89 year old grandmother. She loves it! She had one paper jam but that was only because she tried stuffing way too much paper in it because she was worried about missing out on her emails. Her machine prints out twice a day and she is right there waiting each time. If you buy this machine make sure you and everyone on the friends list are willing to actually send messages to your loved one. Being able to send messages from a cell phone is a real plus. Your pics and messages don't have to be anything great, they just need to be frequent.
Customer Rating:      Summary: Watch out for an extra expense! Comment: After purchasing the Presto Mailbox and installing it for my parents, it would not work. After several phone calls to Presto, they informed me I had to purchase a digital to analog converter for the mailbox to work since my parents had digital phone and television from AT&T. That was another $125.00 expense I was not expecting. A Presto employee said she had noticed many customers had not been informed of this possible added expense.
Customer Rating:      Summary: Infernal Machine Comment: My sisters tried to set this up for my mom. They are both computer savvy. They were unable to ever get it to print an e-mail, though the account, when viewed on the web by the sender, showed all mail successfully delivered. The web also randomly showed a bunch of error messages like "out of paper" or "door open" though the person standing right there could confirm that was not the case. So if you are thinking you are going to be able to manage your parents account from a remote location and know just what's going on- think again. The notion that an elderly, non-computer literate person could set this up themselves is a joke. My sisters found Presto tech support to be condesending and insulting. The instruction manual left out major important pieces of information-like you cannot use a spliter on the phone jack where you connect it- and the phone help was rude and unable to solve the problems.
Now it falls to me to return the *&%#**! thing because my mom is completely confused and frustrated by it. Isn't that just exactly what this thing claims to eliminate? Now she just wants it out of the house and will ever try any new technology again. Thanks a lot Presto.
Customer Rating:      Summary: FANTASTIC! Comment: Really thrilled with this purchase. Haven't seen my parents this excited about a gift in a long time. They are unable to drive so they now feel "connected" with the rest of the family. Can't recommend it enough for parents, grandparents, or anyone without a computer. Love, Love, Love it.
Customer Rating:      Summary: Printing Mailbox/Presto a HIT! Comment: Mom does not have internet connection and doesn not want one. The printing mailbox/Presto service is perfect. She LOVES it! She looks forward to seeing printed pages when she walks by the printer. She feels more in touch and it gives her something fun to think about. So far (about 2 weeks), it's been Great!
