The steel cable loop is long enough for me to loop it around my desk and back through itself. The only thing I have to say is to make sure that your computer has a Kensington lock slot, 99%of all computers have it but just check before you buy. Of course a thief is a thief but if someone attempts to steal my laptop for sure they are going to have to carry the big desk from the hotel room together!
