Customer Rating: Summary: Impossible to find what you are looking for. Comment: The book is nicely arranged for the first time you read through it, but good luck finding what you are looking for later on. Since the questions are randomly throughout the book, makes finding sections next to impossible. Customer Rating: Summary: Not the book I would choose Comment: This book does teach you pretty much everything you would need to know. It is not however a good read. It is one of the blandest books I have ever read, but I will not hold that against it since it is after all a textbook. The only reason I purchased this book, is that class homework is from it. I do not like the way that the book presents topics as it seems kind of backwards to me.
If you are looking to learn the topic, this book certainly can help you do that, but there may be better options. The problem is that this book is entirely different than the one you will need if you need this book for a class in the US.
It does seem to have more graphics than the American Version...I haven't really looked at either yet, to be able to compare them. I am a engineering student, and I depend on this book to help me understand mechanics of materials, but it simply doesn't do this. The authors of the book assume that all readers already know the material. It is extremely frustrating to read this book. The example problems are ambigous. The reading simply does not prepare the reader for the problems at the end of each chapter. The only reason why I give this book two stars is because they have very good visual illustrations.
