"Softly he brushed my cheek, then held my face between his marble hands. ''Be very still,'' he whispered, as if I wasn''t already frozen. Slowly, never moving his eyes from mine, he leaned toward me. Then abruptly, but very gently, he rested his cold cheek against the hollow at the base of my throat. " As Shakespeare knew, love burns high when thwarted by obstacles. In Twilight, an exquisite fantasy by Stephenie Meyer, readers discover a pair of lovers who are supremely star-crossed. Bella adores beautiful Edward, and he returns her love. But Edward is having a hard time controlling the blood lust she arouses in him, because--he''s a vampire. At any moment, the intensity of their passion could drive him to kill her, and he agonizes over the danger. But, Bella would rather be dead than part from Edward, so she risks her life to stay near him, and the novel burns with the erotic tension of their dangerous and necessarily chaste relationship.Meyer has achieved quite a feat by making this scenario completely human and believable. She begins with a familiar YA premise (the new kid in school), and lulls us into thinking this will be just another realistic young adult novel. Bella has come to the small town of Forks on the gloomy Olympic Peninsula to be with her father. At school, she wonders about a group of five remarkably beautiful teens, who sit together in the cafeteria but never eat. As she grows to know, and then love, Edward, she learns their secret. They are all rescued vampires, part of a family headed by saintly Carlisle, who has inspired them to renounce human prey. For Edward''s sake they welcome Bella, but when a roving group of tracker vampires fixates on her, the family is drawn into a desperate pursuit to protect the fragile human in their midst. The precision and delicacy of Meyer''s writing lifts this wonderful novel beyond the limitations of the horror genre to a place among the best of YA fiction. (Ages 12 and up)

Customer Rating: Summary: You gotta read it!! Comment: This book is so amazing!Even though he is just a book character and now a character in a movie you fall totally and completely in L-O-V-E love with Edward Cullen. When he is described you just wish he truly exsisted. you want to be with him you want him to touch you fall in love with you. Stephenie Meyer wrote this amazing story!!!!
Customer Rating: Summary: Twilight Comment: I LOVE THIS BOOK. Well, actually, I love the entire series. I have read Twilight 4 times. It was such a great read, that it only took me a day and a half to read the entire book. (if that) I couldn't put it down. I purchased the other three books maybe 2 weeks later. It took me a week to read the other 3. I loved them all. You really can't get one, and not get the others. I almost didn't get New Moon because of some bad reviewes. I'm glad I chose to see for myself. It's all about personal preference. So.... If you're a romantic at heart, and you have an open mind.... then you'll love them ALL. If you're a skeptic, and need complete and utter realism... you may have problems. It just depends. I love Love.... and everything that it entails... the Good... and the Bad. So, this was the perfect series for me.
Customer Rating: Summary: Love it! Comment: I've read the book twice already...this was a just for fun purchase...and yes, I'm going to read it a third time.
Customer Rating: Summary: Twilight, book 1 Comment: After watching the movie, and absolutely loving it, I read the book and it's even better. The relationships between Bella and Edward and his siblings are much more detailed. I would have liked to have seen the movie include more of this.
Customer Rating: Summary: unbelievably good story Comment: I am more of a grandmother age, not a teenager, but I do enjoy a good story. This is not the quality of the detailed well written story you would find in the Harry Potter series, but it does keep you coming back and wanting to finish reading the story. It is a story of a lonely teenage girl who has no real closeness to either her father or mother. She has no adult figure helping her in her life. She meets a male vampire who "died" as a teenager and they fall in love. Yes, unbelievable, but yes I am still reading it and I will finish it. And I willprobably read the other three books as well!
